Special Educational Needs Coordinator

Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEK): Special Education Categories ADEK:
“The term Special Educational Needs is used to describe any disability, disorder, difficulty, impairment, exceptionality or any other factor that may affect a student’s access to learning and educational performance. These differences may be behavioral, emotional or related to specific aspects of learning.”
The following list describes the categories of disability recognized as requiring additional or different approaches within schools operated by ADEK. These categories are recognized, defined and included in a Ministry of Education document entitled
“The Ministry of Education’s Guide School For All: General Rules for the Provision of Special Education Programs and Services (2010)” and ADEK “Special Educational Policy and Procedures Handbook”

Ms. Anja, is the Learning Support Coordinator/SEN Teacher at Branch 4. She is committed to ensure the well-being of the students. She has an MA in Psychology from the University of Aberdeen, UK, and PGCE from the University of Derby, UK, as well as more than 5 years of educational experience. Ms. Anja fully supports an inclusive and connected classroom culture and encourages all students to strive to be the best version of themselves.
