We hope you are enjoying a safe, healthy summer holiday with your family, whether here in the UAE or back in your home countries.
This has definitely been an extraordinary year. Together we made it through to the end of 2019- 2020, and together we shall receive 2020- 2021, and will venture through it.
We are committed to do all we can to keep our students and faculty safe. We will apply all government regulations for Reopening. We note, however, that while we will do all we can, there is no way to ensure 100% safety or a 100% risk free environment. A community of people in close proximity presents the risk of disease and germ transmission. We will do our best to protect all, but can only do so with your cooperation and support at home. We are grateful to all community members for their support during this, hopefully, once-in-a-lifetime challenge. We are also excited to welcome our students back to campus, and to welcome our new families into our community when doors open again on August 30, 2020.
As per ADEK guidelines, all parents and students must submit a proof of "negative result of Covid 19" to be allowed into school premises. If you have been travelling outside UAE, you must observe the 14 day quarantine requirement.
We will be guided by the following principles:
- Respect for and compliance with relevant governmental requirements for health and safety in schools.
- Accountability for our own individual actions and parent accountability for upholding our health and hygiene requirements at home.
- Responsibility for the emotional and physical health and well-being of our students and staff as we all observe mutual respect and open communication.
- Adaptability to a frequently changing situation and to the guidelines about how to work and run a school safely.Things will change; we will do our best to keep up; we will take your feedback and communicate adjustments; we are unlikely to be perfect.
- Courtesy and Communication: recent months have been stressful. Physical Social Distancing will be a new type of stress on students, teachers and the community. As we all pull together, let us all commit to communicating in a courteous and supportive way.
We have been studying ADEK guidelines as well as ICS- Branch 4 logistics and resources. We have decided to "Open Fully for All Our Children" FS2- Year 7, from Sunday to Thursday. Our vast campus means we have much space to use for learning. We will be utilizing 31 classrooms for what would have been 23 classes under normal circumstances. This arrangement allows us to observe the social distancing requirements and to maximize on- campus time for our students. Class capacity will vary between 18- 24 students per classroom, depending on the size of the room.
A new play area is being furnished to allow for more dispersed break times. More rotations for recess and playground with social distancing
Full specialist course offerings will be for all classes.
School Day will be from 8:00- 12:00 for FS2 and till 1:30 for Year 1- Year 7.
After School Activities will have to wait until later in the year.
We will continue to utilize one unifying online learning platform (Google Classroom), for those who choose to continue with Distance Learning.
We will use virtual meeting places for Introductions, Inductions and Parent Conferences in the new year
Safety and Hygiene:
Temperature checks: We ask that parents take their children’s temperature every morning before coming to school. Please keep children home if they manifest any symptoms of an illness: fever, but also headache, cough, runny nose, lethargy, stomach ache, etc. ICS guideline is 37.5 degrees and below is acceptable for campus access.
Masks: Students from age 6 are currently required to wear masks on campus during all classes, except only lunch break and physical activity during PE classes (both of which will be socially distanced).
Hand-washing and desk cleaning: Students will be regularly required to wash and/or sanitize their hands, upon entry to school/classroom, during the school day, before meals, and after toilet use. Upper School students may also be required to clean their desks/ workstations after/ between classes.
Social Distancing: Ensuring that students maintain the social distancing rules is an important pillar of our prevention strategy. This will include bus riding, in classroom study, during passing periods, and in the cafeteria.
School access: Parents will not be allowed on campus. Dropping off and Picking up of children will be sent in details shortly. Campus access for others outside our community (delivery people, specialists) will be rigorously monitored and their access to campus will be limited to specific areas and access points.
Medical professionals have been hired for all ICS schools. They will be present on campus throughout the day.
School Buses
There will be busing. Work and communications currently ongoing with Bus Company. All government guidelines with respect to hygiene and social distancing will be strictly observed.
Lunch/Cafeteria
There will be lunch service in our canteen. It may be delivered and eaten in classrooms and may be eaten inside the cafeteria. We will send the details in due time. It is preferable, though, that each child get his/ her own lunch.
I will be sending a questionnaire shortly to find out the number of students who will opt to continue with Distance Learning; also to find out who will be using school transportation. It is important that you respond to that as it will help us with our planning.

الصحة العاطفية والبدنية ورفاهية طلابنا وموظفينا حيث يكون الاحترام متبادل والتواصل المفتوح.
القدرة على التكيف مع الوضع المتغير باستمرار والمبادئ التوجيهية حول كيفية العمل وإدارة المدرسة بأمان. سنأخذ ملاحظاتك بعين الاعتبار ونقوم بالتعديلات إذا كان ذلك مناسبا.
التواصل والاحترام: كانت الأشهر الأخيرة مرهقة على الجميع. ولكن العودة الى المدرسة ستمثل تحديا جديدا للطلاب والمعلمين من حيث القدرة على تطبيق التباعد الاجتماعي وهذا يتطلب التعاون بيننا جميعًا.
بعد دراسة إرشادات الوزارة قررنا فتح المدرسة بالكامل لجميع أطفالنا من الروضة الاولى حتى السنة السابعة، من الأحد إلى الخميس.
ان بناء المدرسة الواسع يعني أن لدينا مساحة كبيرة لاستخدامها في التعلم ضمن توجيهات الحكومة. سنستخدم 31 غرفة صف لما كان يمكن أن يكون 23 صفًا في الظروف العادية. يسمح لنا هذا الترتيب التقيد بمتطلبات التباعد الاجتماعي وزيادة وقت تواجد الطلاب في المدرسة. يتراوح عدد الطلاب في الفصل بين 18-24 طالبًا ، اعتمادًا على حجم الغرفة. تم تجهيز منطقة لعب جديدة لإعطاء الطلاب مساحات أكبر للعب وفي أوقات متفاوتة. سيكون اليوم الدراسي من الساعة 8:00- 12:00 لصفوف الروضة الاولى وحتى 1:30 للسنة الأولى حتى السنة السابعة. لن يكون هناك أي انشطة مدرسية بعد انتهاء الدوام. وسنستمر في استخدام نظام أساسي واحد موحد للتعلم عبر الإنترنت وهو غوغل كلاسروم . أما بالنسبة للاجتماعات مع الاهل فستبقى افتراضية على المدى المنظور
السلامة والنظافة:
اختبارات درجة الحرارة: نطلب من الآباء قياس درجة حرارة أطفالهم كل صباح قبل القدوم إلى المدرسة. يرجى إبقاء الأطفال في المنزل إذا أظهروا أي أعراض المرض: الحمى ، والصداع ، والسعال ، وسيلان الأنف ، والخمول ، وآلام المعدة ، وما إلى ذلك. حسب الإرشادات فإن 37.5 درجة او أقل مقبولة للدخول الى المدرسة.
الأقنعة: جميع الطلاب من سن 6 مطلوب منهم ارتداء أقنعة طيلة وجودهم في المدرسة ، باستثناء استراحة الغذاء والنشاط البدني فقط، كلاهما سيكونان حسب التباعد الاجتماعي

غسل اليدين وتنظيف سطح المكتب: سيطلب من الطلاب بانتظام الغسيل و / أو تعقيم أيديهم ، عند دخولهم المدرسة / الفصل ، خلال اليوم الدراسي ، قبل وجبات الطعام ، وبعد استخدام المرحاض. قد يُطلب من طلاب الصفوف العليا أيضًا تنظيف طاولات العمل الخاصة بهم بعد / بين الفصول الدراسية.
التباعد الاجتماعي: يعد الحفاظ على قواعد التباعد الاجتماعي أحد الركائز المهمة في استراتيجية الوقاية لدينا. سيشمل ذلك ركوب الحافلات ، في الفصول الدراسية ، خلال فترات الحركة داخل المدرسة، عند الدخول او الخروج من والى المدرسة. كما لن يُسمح للآباء الدخول الى المدرسة سيصلكم بالتفصيل مكان وكيفية توصيل الأطفال قريبًا. لن يسمح لأي كان من خارج مجتمعنا المباشر بالدخول إلى المدرسة. ويقتصر وصولهم إلى مناطق ونقاط محددة.

الحافلات المدرسية سوف نتبع بدقة جميع التوجيهات الحكومية فيما يتعلق بالنظافة والتباعد الاجتماعي بما يختص بالحافلات وشروط السلامة.
الغداء / الكافتيريا سيكون هناك غداء متوفر في الكافيتيريا يمكن توصيله وتناوله في الفصول الدراسية ، ويمكن تناوله في مجموعات أصغر في الكافتيريا. يفضل ، مع ذلك ، أن يجلب كل طفل غذائه الخاص من البيت.
