We like to remind parents that punctual daily attendance at school is a requirement for sustained progress. Absence and late-coming interferes with your child’s ability to learn, as well as being a disruption to other learners. Please ensure that your child arrives at school on time every day.

Taking your child out of school early, and not collecting them on time at the end of the day, is also disruptive for your child’s well-being.

This depends on the age at which your child will be entering ICS. The older the student, the more important it becomes that they have a certain mastery of English. Having said that, ICS has students from over fifty-five countries, and many of our youngest students are not fluent in English when they arrive; our teachers are skilled at making them feel comfortable in class. Based on your application, ICS may require an English test to ascertain your child’s proficiency in English.

If you want your child to start school at the beginning of the academic year (typically in late August), we strongly suggest that you submit a complete application before the end of February. 

Once the completed online application and application fee are received by the Admissions Office, we will prepare the file for review by the Principals. We always do our best to work quickly however, depending on the time of year and number of applications, this can take some time. Once a decision has been made parents will receive a response from ICS; applications are either approved, declined, or require further review.

Please note that an approved application does not guarantee admission for the child. For August entry, year/grade level capacity is assessed in March/April, and we make seat offers to as many approved applicants as possible. Offers of admission are sent via email. If a year/grade level is full, those applicants that were approved (but not admitted) remain on the waiting list.

Many current ICS families will not know if they are moving until the summer months. Thus, we typically see changes in enrollment right up through the first week or two of school.

If you complete your application close to a school holiday it may take 6-8 weeks to process it and respond.

We offer two separate curricula across our schools; the English National Curriculum and the American California State Curriculum.

All students also complete a programme in Arabic and Social Studies, in accordance with the UAE Ministry of Education requirements, while our Muslim students follow an Islamic Studies programme.

Yes. Emirates Transportation is our current provider and operates a safe and convenient transport service to all of our schools. A door-to-door service is available where possible. 

We are confident in Emirates Transportation’s ability to meet the standards and requirements of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport (DOT).

Definitely! The ICS PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is an important part of our community, and has supported us since our establishment.

The PTA mission is to build bridges between all members of the ICS Association, which includes families, alumni, personnel and Trustees as well as enhancing our student’s learning experiences, fostering global citizenship, celebrating every child and strengthening communication between home and school, all through a multitude of programs and effective fundraising.

The ACS PTA welcomes new families to our community, runs special events for the school and supports our teachers and administration. The PTA organizes classroom parents in the elementary school to assist teachers with special activities.

Yes. Students at each of our schools are kept safe by a discrete security team (male and female) that work on-site 24/7, 365 days per year. The size of the security team at each school also increases during the academic year.
 
The CCTV system at each School provides coverage across key internal and external areas of the school, supporting staff should incidents require further investigation.
